3 Levels
THE GODDESS GARDEN ATLANTA is comprised of 3 levels.
The
UPPER LEVEL
is comprised of Grandmother's Garden which was the original garden of the house as of 1950s. This level is a beatuiful show of indigo saliva, hydrangeas, butterfly bush, butterfly rose, rosemary, sage, lilies, and pink oxalis.
The
MIDDLE LEVEL
is comprised of the bird landing where pigeons and wild birds are fed and watered daily, Spiderwoman's Garden and Mary's Grotto. Mary's Grotto gives you a spectacular view of the lower level of the garden. Shaded by beautiful oak trees, this is a popular gathering and teaching spot. Mary's Grotto is dedicated to the many aspects of the divine mother- Mary of the Oaks, Patcha Mama of South America, Guadalupe and the Black Madonna.
The
LOWER LEVEL
is a natural caldera and is the largest level of land in the garden. The Goddess Garden Medicine Wheel, or ceremonial circle based on a Native American Medicine Wheel, is dedicated to the 7 directions with alters to 5. Enjoy Ginger lilies from August to first frost, naturalized tiger lilies in July, Quince and Spirea in Spring and beautiful oleander and dahlias in Summer. These are just a few of the beautiful flowers that grace this ceremonial circle.
The South Sitting Area in the Lower Level is a perfect place to rest in the shade and enjoy the medicine wheel. It is often a popular gathering spot and place of quiet meditation. The Shaman's Trail and path of the Little People are here also.
This private preserve is comprised of 3 levels and is located just off of the newly developed
City of Atlanta's BeltLine Project Angier Springs Station.

Tara's Portal
TARA'S PORTAL
is the final sacred space located in the
LOWER LEVEL
of the garden. Created by priestess and goddess garden women in 1987, built for the Green Tara of Tibet. People come to pray and send blessings.
Green Tara is a bodhisattva, she has agreed to stay incarnated in this earth plane to help people reach enlightenment. People light candles and incense, ring the bells to honor the goddess of mercy and compassion. They say prayers, and leave donations. There is a candle burning 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year and the peoples prayers are contained in this candle. Chant Tara's Mantra 3 times upon entering the portal:
OM TARE TUTARE TURE SOHA
OM indicates all that exists, TARE, Great Respected Mother. TUTARE describes Her as the remover of all obstacles, while TURE describes Her as the giver of all needs, bestower of great fortune. SOHA is a seal for the mantra, stating that this is, as it ever has been and ever shall be.
Tara, Great Mother who Removes Obstacles & Satisfies Needs
So Be it!!!
This is a sacred space dedicated to the Goddess Tara. Please do not move any objects on the altar or deface in anyway. Awareness is the key to right action. Offerings of money to the Goddess Garden Atlanta are accepted here.
