Located just off of North & Freedom Parkway, the garden is a healing sanctuary for all people, wildlife and spirits. While this land is private, it is open to the public on special events by invite, open to Garden Members year round and always available by appointment. We appreciate it if you follow Garden Protocol when you visit. Thank you. (please visit the bottom of this page for membership and protocol information)
Shasta Zaring has created and cultivated this one-acre piece of land using this unique brand of gardening. One purpose of urban wilderness gardening is to create wilderness habitat for the wildlife that finds food, water and safety within the city. No pesticides or herbicides are use anywhere in the Goddess Garden Atlanta. " A good pair of scissors, patience and willingness to work with nature is all you need." says Zaring of her gardening style. This eco-friendly, non-invasive method of gardening works with the existing Georgia habitat and species. The Goddess Garden was entirely covered with kudzu when Zaring started cultivating the land some 11 years ago. The original garden was just outside of the house what is now Grandmother's Garden. THE GODDESS GARDEN ATLANTA is comprised of 3 levels of land. |

UPPER LEVEL is comprised of Grandmother's Garden, indigo saliva, hydrangeas, butterfly bush, butterfly rose, rosemary, sage, lilies, and pink oxalis are just a few. Grandmother pictured left. The MIDDLE LEVEL is comprised of the bird landing where pigeons and wild birds are fed and watered daily, Spiderwoman's Garden and Mary's Grotto. Mary's Grotto gives you a spectacular view of the lower level of the garden. Shaded by beautiful oak trees, this is a popular gathering and teaching spot. |

The LOWER LEVEL is a natural caldera and is the largest level of land in the garden. The Goddess Garden Medicine Wheel, or ceremonial circle based on a Native American Medicine Wheel, is dedicated to the 7 directions with alters to 5. Enjoy Ginger lilies from August to first frost, naturalized tiger lilies in July, Quince and Spirea in Spring and beautiful oleander and dahlias in Summer. These are just a few of the beautiful flowers that grace this ceremonial circle. Sophie with Wild White Yarrow |

The South Sitting Area is a perfect place to rest in the shade and enjoy the medicine wheel. It is often a popular gathering spot and place of quiet meditation. The Shaman's Trail and path of the Little People also are located here. |
